I thought the article was very insightful. It provided me also with food for thought on applying the practice of using tests and simulations to check the behaviour of new materials and techniques.

I also enjoyed learning about the Paul Pietsch Award.

Dear reader,

A city with millions of inhabitants such as Istanbul is of course faced with major challenges, but has a number of tools at its disposal to respond to local mobility constraints. BRT systems provide potential answers to the challenges posed by transportation today – such as road congestion that frequently brings traffic to the point of collapse. BRT systems are an instrument that draws attention to efficient, sustainable mobility solutions in public transport – and arouses people's enthusiasm for them. This cannot happen overnight. But if it proves successful, it will bring about benefits for all: for citizens, city councils, public transport operators, and ultimately for the flow of traffic in the megacities in which we live.

Hi everybody from Istanbul. Impressing on that driving in Istanbul is an exciting experience requires good driving skills and fair aggressiveness to get through the traffic Unfortunately the metrobus is useless for Istanbul. In Istanbul . And a city with a population of 12 million plus people, 2.4 million cars and at least 100,000 new vehicles each year. Therefore Metrobus has a simple impact for Turkish citizens, occupying the roads with 3 lane.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank "Mercedes Benz BRT" team on their project along with the council of İstanbul for their effort in trying to minimise the traffic of our historical beauty. Eventhough I reside in İzmir I also travel to İstanbul regularly where I frequently use the public transportation facilities and especially the socalled METROBUS. It is, without a doubt late but the best soulution any one came up with in a long time. Therefore BRT Team, you have your work cut out for you so keep up the good work and good luck as it looks like you'll be needing it.

As a daily traveller on the Metrobus system, we appreciate Istanbul Municipality's effort in providing Istanbul citizens with this facility. It is great comfort, safe and less time consuming. Wherever possible the system should be applied.
